Now regular visitors to our site know that one of our members,(Colin Bannister) has
the knack of somehow getting into all sorts of problems, usually something to do
with his Camaro or the odd lawnmower.
After being fed up with breaking down on numerous occasions as he was driving
his Camaro to Avon park, he decided enough was enough and decided to buy
himself a transit for towing , and a new trailer.
Now all this went well for the early part of the season until the day of the yanks
weekend meeting, when after seeing no sign of him,Bob received a text saying that
he had broken down, but we had no news on what happened.
The following day Bob received another text from Colin and this is the actual text
that he sent.
Brakes locked up on trailer,
set fire to wheel trims,
melted all grease in wheel bearings, and seals in brakes,
one brake drum shattered,
two tyres exploded.
Commiserations Colin.
Burning rubber the wrong way
Congratulations go to my brother,Welsh Paul for
winning the Garys picnic final shootout.
Up against Roger Luty (surrey muscle)in the olds
442,Paul hole shot him off the line with a .19 reaction
time compared to Rogers of.3.
It was Pauls slowest run of the weekend, a 10.001 with
the Viva spinning slightly on launch and moving about a
bit on the first part of the track (due to the track going
off a bit),but he still managed to hold off Roger 10.059
and break the beam, just 5 thousandths of a second
ahead of him.
A nice cheque of £100 and trophy for winning the
class, and a further £500 cheque and another trophy for
winning the final.
Well done Paul, from all at shakespearecountyracers

Unfortunately,good friend of SCR,Dave
Newman, pictured here with one of the seven 55
chevys that turned up for Garys picnic, had the
misfortune of crashing his beautiful 55 into a tree
on the way home from the park, due to a problem
with the throttle.
I dont know the exact story, but as soon as i speak
to Dave i will post it up here.
Bad luck 3
On returning home from the yanks
weekend/Garys picnic,I had the misfortune
of finding out that some waste of human
life, had tried to set fire to the back end of
my lotus.
Thankfully there was little damage as the
fire did not catch properly ,resulting in a
bit of scorched and cracked paintwork and
a few blobs of melted tarpaulin dripped
over the back end.
I think its time i got myself a garage,dont
you agree.
THEY SAY THAT BAD THINGS COME
IN THREES,LETS HOPE SO.
